Unboxing:

Open the printer packaging box and check the components present in it. Take out the Brother MFC 8890DW printer and keep it aside. Remove all the protective materials from the inside and outside of your printer.

Installing the toner cartridges:

You can now install the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. On your Brother printer, you need to press the front cover release to open the front cover.

Loading the paper:

It’s time to load the paper. Your Brother can hold 250 sheets of paper in the paper tray and 50 sheets in the automatic document feeder.

• Later, select the printer from the list and continue with the on-screen instructions.
• Type the network key when you see the Authentication mode and Encryption mode screen appear in the Wireless Setup Wizard. Click Next.
• Finally, click Finish. You can now disconnect the network cable.

The wireless setup is now complete. You are all set to use your Brother printer wirelessly.

Note: Ensure that your computer is turned on. Check that the interface cables are not connected to the printer.

• Insert the Brother installation disc into the CD/DVD drive of your computer. The installation wizard appears on the screen.
• On the welcome screen, select the required basic settings and click Next.
• Now, click Initial Installation and then select Install MFL-Pro Suite.
• Choose the Local Connection option to continue the installation and click Next.
• When prompted to agree to the end user license agreement, select Yes.
• When asked to plug the cable, connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port located at the back of your Brother printer.
• Connect the other end to your computer and turn on your Brother MFC 8890DW Setup.
• Finally, choose Yes. I want to restart my computer now.
• Click Finish.

The USB setup is now complete.

• Connect one end of the network cable to the LAN port of your wireless router.
• The other end should be plugged into the port with the wired network icon on your Brother printer.
• Now, connect the power cord to an electrical outlet and turn on your printer.

PAPER JAM

Usually, the paper jam issue occurs due to the excessive papers loaded into the paper tray. You can easily clear this issue by referring to the steps given below.

• When your printer’s LCD screen displays a paper jam error message, pull the paper tray completely out from your printer.
• Remove the jammed paper from the printer and put back the paper tray into the printer.
• Open the MP tray and remove the jammed paper from the inside and outside of the MP tray. Now, close the MP tray and reload the paper into the MP tray.
• Sometimes, the paper might get jammed inside the drum unit assembly. In such a case, remove the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly. Keep it aside. Take out the toner cartridge from the drum unit.
• Remove the jammed paper if you find any. Later, insert the toner cartridge into the drum unit and install the assembly back into the printer.

TONER RESET

Though the toner cartridge lasts for a longer time, you need to replace the toner once it prints up to approximately 3000 pages. Here’s how to do it.

• Start pressing the front cover release button to open the front cover.
• Now, take out the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly.
• Take the toner cartridge from the drum unit.
• Unwrap the new toner cartridge package and remove all the protective materials from it. Try to clean the corona wire of the drum unit.
• Insert the new toner cartridge into the drum unit. Place the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the printer.

PRINTER OFFLINE

Sometimes, the printer might end up in an Offline error. Are you worried about it? Don’t worry. Refer to the simple steps given below.

• On your Windows computer connected to the printer, press the Start menu.
• Navigate to Control Panel and then click Hardware and Sounds.
• Now, select Devices and Printers.
• From there, you can right-click your Brother printer icon.
• Select the See what’s printing option and click the Printer menu at the top left corner. Deselect Use Printer Offline. You can also deselect the Pause Printing option.
• Perform the basic troubleshooting, such as checking the USB cable. If you use an Ethernet cable for connecting your Brother MFC 8890DW Setup, check whether it is properly connected to the router and printer.
• You can also restart the printer spooler service. It mostly fixes the problem.

CONNECTED TO WIFI BUT NOT PRINTING
