Unpack

  • Unpack the product box and take out your printer and all the components you received.

Print Head

There is no print head in the Brother DCP 8085DN printer.

Paper Jam

  • Before you start to clear the paper jam, make sure that you have installed the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into its holder. If not, it would become a significant reason behind the paper jam error.
  • If you find the paper jam in the MP tray, the LCD of the printer will show the error code Jam MP tray. In that case, remove the paper from the MP tray, take out the jammed paper, and close the MP tray. Then, open the printer's front cover and close it to reset the printer.
  • If there is a paper jam inside paper tray 1, the LCD will show you the Jam Tray 1 error, and if there is a paper jam in paper tray 2, it will show the error code Jam Tray 2. In that case, take out the respective trays from the printer and slowly remove the jammed paper. Ensure that the loaded paper doesn't exceed the indicated mark. Then, reinsert the paper tray into the printer and verify that the paper jam error has disappeared.

Toner Reset

  • Open the front cover of your Brother DCP 8085DN printer by pressing the release button.
  • Take out the drum unit assembly and press the blue lock lever down to take out the used toner cartridge.
  • Unpack your newly bought toner cartridge and shake it right to left to spread the toner evenly. Then, install the toner cartridge into the drum unit and press it until it locks in its place.
