To perform the printer setup, there is a 2-setup protocol you must follow.
HARDWARE SETUP

Unpack the printer from the carton.
Place the DCP printer on a flat surface and closer to the computer for easy USB connection.
Open the front cover of the printer.
Hold the handle and remove the drum unit assembly.
Gently shake the drum unit several times to distribute the toner evenly.
Place the drum unit assembly back into the printer and close the front cover.
Pull the paper tray from the front of the printer.
Remove the packaging material present inside.
Press the paper guide release lever and move the paper guides to the corners of the paper tray.
Place a neat stack of paper into the tray. Next, bring back the paper guides to the sides of the stack to hold it firmly.
Insert the paper tray back into the Brother printer until it goes fully inside.
Unpack the power cord from the sealed packaging.
Connect it to the rear end of the printer and to the main power source.
Press the switch present right next to the power outlet on the printer.
Press the Menu button.
Use the navigation buttons present and select the language of your choice.

JAM INSIDE THE PRINTER

Pull the paper tray completely from the printer.
Remove the damaged paper completely from the printer and keep it aside.
Slightly pull the jammed paper up and then remove it from the paper tray opening.
